Phew! Almost 2 weeks have passed since uni started and the homesickness still lingers in me. As to when I will get over this achy urge to be home with my family, I don't know. But what I do know is that the bad weather in Newcastle that I came back to isn't helping with my situation.

2016 is a whole new year and unlike everyone else staying awake to welcome the arrival of the new year, I was in bed asleep after spending 17 long hours travelling back to the UK from home. Forgive me for being tired both mentally and physically. This is how the new year started uneventfully for me. Taken over by a sudden loneliness- being home alone and having to leave my parents and brother after such a short festive holiday, I stayed in bed for the next two days doing nothing.

First day in uni passed just like that- it was the life of a dental student in the dental hospital on autoplay and repeat mode- everyday is the same. That was how I felt on my very first day, forgive me for all the negativity. I've deeply reflected on that. Now, after 2 weeks, I'm finally back to my old self, motivated to finish final year and all! Oh and I almost forget, we had the first snowy morning of the year today too!
