Dental Group Christmas Meal

22:48

So yea it's that time of the year again! CHRISTMAS!
Personally, I am a Buddhist following my mum's religion although my dad is a Christian.
Our family does not celebrate Christmas like Christians do, but we do go for house visits, have a christmas dinner (not the traditional turkey, but a more posh name for eating  out) and spend some quality family time. So, Christmas to me has a different meaning. It is to me, an excuse to get together with friends, do something special with my beloved family and organise fun parties.

As per tradition, our dental group has decided to get together for a Christmas meal before we break off for the holidays. This year, we decided to have it over at one of our friend's house-Sarah's, which is a 2-minute walk away from my house. All of us decided to chip in £5 each but Sarah's the main chef for the big day. Although the process of getting food onto the table was a hectic one, the result of those hard work was worth it.

Roasting and more roasting

roasted honeyed radish and carrots- my favourite!

gammon and chicken

Our christmas meal in the making

the typical christmas meal! looking fab

sarah's grandma's sticky toffee pudding with homemade custard/ cream

can't miss mince pies for a christmas dinner!

can't miss out drinks and some posh wine

the chef of the night, introducing Sarah, my local bestie

the gang!

We had two roasts (salt and thyme roasted chicken and gammon), yorkshire puddings, pigs in blanket, peas, roast potatoes, honeyed carrots and parsnips, broccoli and two amazing choices of gravy. For dessert, we had homemade sticky toffee pudding with custard/cream. For non-alcoholic drinker like Rushda and I, Sarah also prepared some mulled apple juice which was so addictive. The meal was so satisfying and all of us was filled to the brim when we left for home.

Articulate-our favourite get together game

Rounds and rounds of articulate and ...., christmas tunes in the background, a few christmas jokes and the night was filled with laughter. I hope that this tradition goes on even after we all graduate next year (fingers crossed).

we are missing bertie who had to leave early
